The Estate of Phife Dawg shared the new track from the late A Tribe Called Quest member. “French Kiss Deux" is the latest single from Phife's highly-anticipated posthumous solo album. The song follows the previously-released "Nutshell, Pt. 2" and serves as a tribute to Montreal.
Featuring former Slum Village rapper Illa J, (J. Dilla's brother) the song is produced by the Potatohead People. "Nutshell, Pt. 2" featured Busta Rhymes and Redman, indicated that there should be an impressive roster of collaborators on the album, which has a previously-announced working title of Forever.
Born Malik Taylor, Phife was a founding member of A Tribe Called Quest alongside bandmates Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammed and Jarobi. He dropped his solo debut, Ventilation the LP in 1999. Phife died in 2016 at 45 years old from complications related to diabetes.
