The Notorious B.I.G. will become the latest rapper inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame next month. To celebrate the occasion, Pepsi has unearthed a freestyle of the late Hip-Hop legend rhyming about the soft drink; and they've turned it into a commercial.
“Nothing can beat the P-E-P-S-I drink it constantly / Something ’bout the taste feels great, less filling / Tell ’em Biggie said drink it all, don’t test me / Nothing else beats a Pepsi / If it is, let’s see/ I’m thirsty,” Biggie rhymes.
Pepsi worked with Cey Adams and DJ Enuff to remaster the unreleased track, which was originally recorded by Enuff in 1997 at D&D Studios in New York City.
Pepsi tapped Antnamation to create a video clip for the freestyle. The video references Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, Biggie's home turf. The animated video features people listening to a boombox, breaking, hanging in the streets of Brooklyn, and Pepsi.
The 2020 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on November 2nd, 2020. Among this year's inductees are The Notorious B.I.G., Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, T-Rex and the Doobie Brothers.
