New York City has announced the lineup for their “Homecoming Week” festival that will be live from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Thursday (July 29) that the concerts taking place in the boroughs would all be hip-hop focused. The four-day festival will feature an outstanding line-up of hip-hop legends and icons, all returning to their home boroughs. The “Home Coming” festival will feature timeless acts like KRS-One, Slick Rick, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah, Kool Keith, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, and Mobb Deep.
It’s refreshing to see New York City honor the artists that have made the soundtrack to the City that never sleeps for the last 47 years. The festival’s lineup is full of hip-hop icons. Each of them return to the city that birth their immense creativity that would leave such an impression on music and popular culture.
