Meek Mill is back with a vengeance in his music video for his new single “War Stories”. Meek Mill shows off his lavish lifestyle, posing as a rap Tony Montana, hanging out with his famous friends, riding four-wheelers, and rapping at Michelin star restaurants.
The track samples the classic Isley Brothers’ 1983 single “Ballad for the Fallen Soldier,” in Meek’s account on the consequences and trauma of street culture despite his success and wealth. “When I was at the funeral, it really gave me trauma when I seen his momma goin’ on/I said, ‘Fuck it, we gon’ go to war,’” Meek raps on the single.
This is Meek’s second freestyle of the year, after releasing “Flamerz Flow” in June. Meek seems hungrier than he has been in years! Let’s hope the new singles are some type of indication we get a project from him this year!
