Earlier this week, Lupe Fiasco challenged himself to complete a 10-song album start to finish from scratch in just 24 hours.
Unfortunately, the Chicago MC was unable to achieve the goal of completing the 24-hour project, admittedly getting tired after knocking out the first half of the album. After taking a day off, Lupe got back to work, hitting the studio again and finishing the second half of the project in only two days of work.
After successfully finishing the album, Lupe claimed that the project would be an instant classic, comparing it to one of the most acclaimed hip-hop albums of all time. “It’s my Illmatic…,” Lupe claimed about the new album in a tweet on Thursday (August 12), referencing Nas’ debut album from 1994, which was recently inducted into the Library of Congress.

The upcoming project is entirely produced by long-time Lupe Fiasco producer, Soundrakk, who helped the rapper craft songs like “Kick Push,” “Sunshine,” and “Superstar”. With albums like Food & Liquor and The Cool under their belt, fans can expect top-tier bars and production from the duo.
