Lauryn Hill's 'Miseducation...' Goes Diamond

Lauryn Hill has joined a noteworthy group of stars.

Hilll's acclaimed 1998 album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill has officially gone diamond. With an upwards of 10 million copies sold, Miseducation... puts Ms. Hill in the company of other Hip-Hop legends who have had some very popular releases.

“Welcome to the RIAA Diamond Club @MsLaurynHill! #TheMiseducationofLaurynHill is now a (10X) certified album,” the RIAA tweeted

Hip-Hop/Rap albums such as MC Hammer's Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em, Licensed To Ill by the Beastie Boys, OutKast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, 2Pac's All Eyez On Me and Life After Death by the Notorious B.I.G. have all crossed the 10 million mark.

Ms. Hill recently discussed why Miseducation... remains her lone solo studio album after she departed the Fugees, the Grammy-winning trio she'd been part of with Wyclef Jean and Pras.

"After the Miseducation, there were scores of tentacled obstructionists, politics, repressing agendas, unrealistic expectations, and saboteurs EVERYWHERE. People had included me in their own narratives of THEIR successes as it pertained to my album, and if this contradicted my experience, I was considered an enemy.”
