Cousin’s Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem will release their long-awaited single “Family Ties” this week.
Las Vegas rapper, Baby Keem, has been teasing a lot of new music, as well as doing his first shows since the pandemic. With an album on the way, Baby Keem is hyping up his fans by announcing a new track featuring none other than his cousin and mentor, Kendrick Lamar.
Following his festival appearances, Baby Keem announced he will be dropping “Family Ties,” featuring K.Dot to be released Thursday night (August 26). The announcement was made via social media, posting a throwback family photo where everyone’s eyes are blurred out except for a young Keem and Kendrick Lamar, reminiscent of Lamar’s iconic good kid, m.A.A.d city cover.
Baby Keem is associated with Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free’s pgLang label that was announced in early 2020. Keem was the first artist to release music through the label, and with Lamar’s recent announcement of leaving TDE, we can expect his future projects to be released there as well.
With the release of “Family Ties,” Kanye’s third Donda event, and a speculated Drake release, this is looking to be a great weekend for hip-hop music. Stay tuned for more news on Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar.
