Kanye West Claims Universal Released 'Donda’ Without His Permission

After three listening parties and months of delays, Kanye West’s 10th studio album, Donda, was finally released on Sunday morning (August 29). Fans were excited to finally get the album that Ye has been teasing for about two years now, only to get the news that the album was released prematurely.

On an Instagram post on Sunday afternoon, West claimed that his label, Universal, released the album without telling him. “Universal put my album out without my approval, and they blocked 'Jail 2' from being on the album,” West wrote.

“Jail 2” premiered at West’s last listening event at Chicago’s Soldier Field. West shared a screenshot conversation between him and his manager in a now-deleted Instagram post, claiming that DaBaby’s management had not cleared the single.

“I’m not taking my brother off,” West said. “He was the only person who said he would vote for me in public.” West expressed to his manager.

Later on Sunday afternoon, “Jail 2” was, in fact, added to the album and is currently available on streaming services.
