Isaiah Rashad is coming off the heels of releasing his third studio album, The House is Burning. The album is the rapper’s homecoming project; after not dropping music for over five years, fans are thankful for Rashad’s return. Rolling Stone joined Rashad and his family in his hometown of Chatanooga, Tennessee, to sit down with the artist and get insight on his time off and how his family supported him through his hiatus.
Before dropping his most recent project, Rashad left the public eye to fight his personal demons. The TDE emcee opens up about his issues with alcoholism and drugs that come with the industry. “I understand alcoholism and drug addiction is in my genes,” he explains. “I think part of the responsibility is me understanding that.” Throughout the video, Isaiah gets honest and personal, giving fans a look into his life, visiting his elementary school, childhood home, and hanging out at his family cookout.
