Eve is making her return to scripted TV.
The rapper/actress is reportedly set to star in an upcoming ABC pilot called Queens with Naturi Naughton of Power fame. According to Variety, the project is to be scripted by Zahir McGhee, who has previously worked on Scandal and Slumptown; and will be about a the members of a successful rap group called The Nasty Bitches, who suddenly reunite in their 40s.
Eve will star as group leader Brianna and Naughton will play founder Jill, who is now a devout Catholic living the quiet life with her husband. Naughton first rose to fame as a member of the early 2000s girl group 3LW; and co-starred as Lil Kim in the 2008 Notorious B.I.G. biopic Notorious before landing her most famous role as Tasha St. Patrick on the 50 Cent-produced STARZ hit Power.
Of course, this isn't Eve's first go-round starring on a network show. She headlined her own sitcom from 2003 to 2005. She's also made countless guest appearances on the small screen, including Empire, Jane The Virgin, Feel Good, and Kidding. She's also famously appeared in hit movies like The Cookout, XXX, and the popular Barbershop series.
Eve recently departed the popular daytime talk show The Talk in late 2020.
