Eminem has dropped the video for "Higher" from his 2020 album Music To Be Murdered By: Side B today (January 23) and the visual pays homage to LL COOL J's classic "Mama Said Knock You Out" vid. Em's track is part of the rap superstar's partnership with UFC, and the video highlights previous fights and cameos from UFC president Dana White and ESPN's Michael Eaves.
Em dropped the vid during ESPN's pre-show for Saturday's anticipated UFC 257: Poirier vs. McGregor 2, in a rematch of their 2014 fight. In the "Higher" clip, Em is a fighter readying to fight his demons, and he appears on SportsCenter promoting a fight, as White tells Em he's got no chance. Em isn't hearing it.
“I think people like you give people like me the fuel that they need to succeed in the first place,” Em tells White. “I think the best part about your opinion is that it doesn’t matter and if every fighter that you had listened to your opinion when you doubted them you wouldn’t have a fucking league. So, you’re an asshole and I’m out.”
