Drake thinks it’s time to give Ricky Rozay his flowers.
The Toronto emcee took to his Instagram to crown Miami rapper Rick Ross as the “greatest rapper alive.” This may not come as a surprise to many, as the two have crafted many songs together over the years, each time Ross giving memorable performances on tracks like “Stay Schemin’,” “Aston Martin Music,” and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle”.
Drake took to his Instagram story to post a clip of the Maybach Music Boss and OVO Sound signee Smily meeting for the first time. The Toronto rapper captions it, “The greatest rapper alive met my favorite rapper alive.”
Drake has been a longtime supporter of new Toronto rapper and friend Smiley for years, often posting his music and publicly playing his songs, eventually signing him in 2021. The two hopped on the track “Over the Top” earlier this summer, making a splash on platforms like Tik-Tok.
Back in April, Ross announced a collaborative project between himself and Drake. “After our latest release, ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle,’ we had that conversation, and it’s most definitely under serious consideration. Real talk,” he told Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5. There has been no official announcement of release for the project, but fans are excited to hear music from the hitmaking dynamic duo.
