Drizzy Drake is back with a brand new album. The Toronto rapper’s sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy dropped at 2 a.m. ET. The album has been highly anticipated since Drake started teasing it early last year and has gained quite the hype in the midst of his beef with Kanye West as they simultaneously rolled out their albums.
On the 14th track on the album, “7am On Bridle Path”, Drake takes shots at Kanye West, directly referencing Kanye leaking the rapper’s home address to his Instagram account, as Bridle Path is the street on which his home sits.
“Get that address to your driver, make it your destination/Stead of just a post out of desperation,” he raps.He fires shots towards Ye throughout the track; although he doesn’t say any names, the subliminal disses are oddly specific. “You over there in denial, we not neck and neck/It’s been a lot of years since we seen you comin’ correct/ Man, fuck a “Respectfully,” I want my respect.”
He even seems to reference Kanye’s Yeezy brand with the bars, “I could give a fuck about who designing your sneakers and tees/Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed,” he spits.
“Heroes fallin’ from grace in their older ages,” Drake cuts deep. The beef is particularly upsetting as a young Drake once cited West as his “favorite artist.”
What do you think about the diss? Did Drake rip Ye apart? Is this all a part of their plan to sell more records? Keep it locked for more news on Drizzy and CLB.
