Dr. Dre To Present Big Boy's Walk of Fame Star

Legendary hip-hop radio host Big Boy will be receiving his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Big Boy is a pioneer of hip-hop radio, with almost 30 years working as a DJ and radio host, Big Boy is much respected and highly regarded as an OG in the game. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the Big Boy’s Neighborhood host by giving him his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On Wednesday (September 8), Big Boy will be commemorated for his years of dedication to hip-hop culture with a Hollywood star coinciding with his 52nd birthday. Legendary producer Dr. Dre will present the award to Big Boy, one of his closest friends. The star is dedicated in the radio category at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the iconic record store Amoeba Music.

“‘Big Boy’ is L.A.’s pride and joy and a hero to his listeners. We are thrilled to honor him on his special birthday and welcome him to our Walk of Fame family,” producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ana Martinez said.

The 52-year-old disc jockey put in 20 years at LA’s hip-hop and R&B station  Power 106. Before that, he was DJing parties and served as a bodyguard for the ’90s Hip Hop group The Pharcyde. Today he’s the host of Big Boy’s Neighborhood on iHeart Media’s Real 92.3.

We at Rock the Bells thank Big Boy for his years contributing to our culture.
