DMX continues to fight for his life in an intensive care unit in White Plains, N.Y. The Hip-Hop star has been hospitalized since Friday, April 2, after reportedly suffering a massive heart attack. His family and attorney have issued statements about his current state, and reports indicate that DMX (born Earl Simmons) has been breathing on his own, but remains in grave condition.
Friends, family and fans have all gathered outside White Plains Hospital in support of the rapper. His fiancee, Desiree Lindstrom, and his ex-wife, Tashera Simmons, were among those attending a prayer vigil outside the hospital. Members of the "Ruff Ryders" motorcycle crew were at the hospital on Sunday to pay tribute to X, star of the Ruff Ryders record label and famed for his 1998 hit single "Ruff Ryders Anthem." TMZ also reports that hospital staff members "held their own little vigil Sunday evening."

Over the weekend, DMX’s family said via statement:
“On Friday night, April 2nd, 2021, our brother, son, father, and colleague DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, was admitted to White Plains (NY) Hospital, facing serious health issues. We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges.”
