Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson is developing the new hip-hop competition series, Unrapped. The show will be produced by Jackson’s own G-Unit Film & Television at ABC. The show will be 50’s fifth television production credit with the highly successful crime drama series, Power and Black Mafia Family.
The series will follow a talent show format where celebrity contestants, coached by hip-hop elites, compete in rap battle tournaments until one is crowned king or queen.
G-Unit Film & Television is producing the show with SFO Entertainment, and 50 will executive produce along with Antonio Collier, Susie Ursitti Sheinberg, Gwen Osbourne, John Sheinberg, and Matt Feige.
“I am excited to expand my relationship with ABC,” 50 said in a statement. “Unrapped brings G-Unit Film and Television ability to put incredible music and music talent on screen to the competition space.”
Unwrapped adds to 50’s long resume of television production credits. With the Power universe and Black Mafia Family on Starz, 50 Cent is also developing Let Me Hear a Rhyme for Peacock.
